In an effort to improve residential services and control unauthorized access, on November 21st the Hamilton Board of Selectmen voted to change the hours which the DPW Yard is open and available to residents for item drop-off. Effective Thursday, December 15, 2011 the DPW yard behind Town Hall will be closed to residents during the work week but will be open the 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Hamilton residents will be able to pay for and drop off waste, (tv’s, large and small appliances, computers, etc.) on each designated Saturday. Cardboard and paper drop off will be available only on the designated Saturdays. Payment by check and cash will be accepted and residents will be able to pre-pay at the DPW Office during normal Town Hall hours.
The tentative schedule is as follows:
- December 17, 2011
- January 21, 2012
- February 18, 2012
- March 17, 2012
- April 21, 2012
- May 19, 2012
Please note: If there is snow acumulation over 4 inches on Friday night or Saturday morning the yard will be closed that Saturday and open the following Saturday.
In addition, the fee structure was changed to cover costs charged by our vendors and align us with area towns.
